Charity Craft Afternoon

New WORKSHOPS for May!

Some very exciting news ….. we are introducing some NEW WORKSHOPS for May ….. here is our announcement flyer!

Mother's Day Pewter Box

Pewter workshops and ongoing classes will be on offer with Caryl – Tues, Thurs and some Saturday mornings – please download the flyer upbove to get all the dates!

Kendal will be giving art classes for kids on a Thursday afternoon – the classes will cover a range of techniques:
Elements of Art / Principles of Design
Mediums will vary from one project to the next. Mixed media will often be employed.
Some of the mediums used in class are: Paint (Acrylic, oil, and water colour) / Pencil / Chalk / Oil pastel / Pen / Wax / Pewter / Copper / Mosaic / Gilding with metal composites / Collage / Cement / Plaster…
Classes start on May 5th – June 30th 2011 (termly). Holiday workshops are offered and class will resume again on July 28th – Sept 22nd 2011. The last term for 2011 will start on the 6th Oct and run until 17th Nov 2011.
The cost is R150 a class excluding materials.

March-May 2011 schedule …..

2011 is well on it’s way and soon enough it will be HobbyX ….. We are working hard at getting a whole lot of new and inspiring bits and pieces together for the show. In the meantime the schedule that will run over HobbyX, from March-May 2011 is available to download! You’ll see some new and exciting workshops and lots of activities for the kids in the Easter holidays.

Once again it’s that time of year, and at last I have finished with the Latest Schedule! Kids Holiday Workshops …. an Advanced Sculpture Workshop set for January and all the great Workshops you have come to know from The SeedPod Studio.

Next year we will re-look at all the workshops to bring some new and exciting courses in …. so keep the ideas coming in …. see you at the studio!

Advanced Mosaic Classes ….

So I’ve been thinking of starting a series of advanced mosaic classes ….. something along the lines of:
- Pet Portraiture – bring in a photo of your favorite pet or animal and turn it into an abstract mosaic
- Xmas tree – along the lines of our Big Tree in the studio, you will learn to work with wire and cement to create your own (smaller) tree base and once complete mosaic it. Can also include a wire workshop to make the top branches of the tree etc.
- Creating lightweight sculptural forms to mosaic – techniques and mosaic’ing until project complete (or partly complete)
- Large scale murals – work on a large scale wall mural – installations could be for community type projects …. schools in the townships etc. You get to work on and install a large scale project you wouldn’t typically do at home …

I have so many ideas floating around in my head!! Thought it might be nice to get some feedback from all you guys …. let me know what you think? Would you be keen to get involved?
