I know this site has been quiet of late … simply because I’m finding it sooo much quicker and easier to send through quick bits of news and photos on Facebook …. so please join up! But until then here is the latest schedule, with lots of activities to keep everyone busy – especially the kids over the school holidays. And a bit of exciting news – we have managed to secure some extra space in Broadacres – just 2 doors down from our current studio. So watch this space to see all the news.

Wow …. what a busy couple of weeks …. with finishing off our AMAZING Soccer Ball project and getting ready for HobbyX, things have been crazy. For all of you who are already fans on FaceBook you would have seen the photos of our Ball, for those of you who haven’t – please go and take a look:

The studio is getting back to some normality …. still a bit of unpacking to do but otherwise we shuffled a few things around and are giving the place a bit of a spring clean!

2010 is here at last! We have sooo much going on it’s impossible to keep up ….. but if you really want to then you need to become a FAN of The SeedPod Studio on

….. because that’s where are the latest and greatest photo’s of projects, works-in-progress and workshops are being kept! It’s so easy and quick to use that it will probably be where all the latest gossip goes, but I’ll be keeping this site up to date with the schedules and other bits of info too.

A few items that are back in stock ….. Laurie Mika’s Mixed Media book, a new shipment of Sculpey clay and some gorgeous millefiori’s! One item which we are still waiting for is Laurel Skye’s new book ‘Mosaic Renaissance’ – we ordered 8 copies which arrived in December and were sold out in about 10 days – so we are prepared, we have ordered more …. lots more, but we must wait.

Will let you know as soon as they arrive!

Hobby-X is just around the corner and always we are working on something fantastic for the show …. you will have to see it to believe it!! See you @ the Dome March 4-7 2010.

I’ve just uploaded pictures from last weekends Mixed Media Workshop in Cape Town. It was a really busy weekend with three workshops at three different studios. Everyone had a great time ….. take a look at the pictures to get some great ideas and inspiration: Cape Town Workshop

The shop is looking great as we’ve given it a revamp and brought out all the Xmas goodies.

Just as everyone starts winding down towards the end of the year and getting ready for the holidays – we start getting ready for the festive season rush. Kids workshops, shopping for unique gifts and making sure we have enough mosaic stock to last us through to the New Year. Hope to see you soon.

I’ve just uploaded some new pics from my recent Mixed Media Workshop abroad …. well, not really abroad, in fact just over an hour away from Joburg – in the trendy town of Parys! In the quaint, bright red studio Marmalade Arts a group of seven met up to have an inspiring day of creativity. I met some great gals and a guy too ….. take a look at the pictures: Parys Workshop

The next Cape Town workshop has been scheduled for October – this time @ Mosaic Works (Montague Gardens) on Friday 23 October and @ Crafters Inn (Somerset West) on Saturday 24 October. I’m really excited as I love Cape Town and any excuse to visit will do ….. Book early as the courses are bound to be full quite soon!!

After a busy weekend in the studio I have finally downloaded the pictures of Saturday’s workshop. Everyone really loved the workshop and the quality of their work can attest to that …. take a look – I think they are fantastic!

The second season of “Show Me How” kicked off last night on the Home Channel DSTV 182 at 19h30pm. HobbyX’s Elizabeth Morley hosts various craft experts (many of whom you will recognise …) and shows just how contemporary, trendy and attainable craft projects can be.

This week I am on the show!! And will be teaching you how to make glorious colourful stepping stones for your designer garden!

Since we moved the website onto this blog format I haven’t had much time to look into getting our Gallery of Photo’s online. I still haven’t had much time (story of my life!) but have managed to get things started …. SO please take a look at our Online Gallery.
